Napkin Note Classic:
Trying to please everyone is a recipe for stress, misery, and frustration.
Be Yourself.
PS - It'll be good to know who's down with that.

Dear Lissa,
Just for a moment, forget all of the reasons why it won't work and believe in the one reason it will.

Dear Lissa,
If your glass is half empty or half full, you've missed the point.
The glass is refillable.
Love, Garth
I normally don't write a lot of commentary for my daily napkin notes posts. Today, I will.
Your glass is refillable. You start with whatever amount of "beverage" you have. Maybe it was full to start. Maybe you got shorted and you only have a few drops.
This isn't a permanent status. You can drink when you're thirsty or just want a taste of something good. You can top off the glass. You can share some with a friend or someone in need.
If your glass is empty, a friend can share with you. There's nothing like sharing a drink with a friend.
How much is in your glass doesn't define you. It's what you do with it that matters.

Dear Me,

How would you fill in your Napkin Note?
- Live life to it's fullest
- Everything will be alright
- Love
- Forgive
- Take that risk
- Ask him out
- Try that new thing
I'll share mine soon!

If the grass looks greener on the other side... stop staring. Stop comparing. Stop complaining and start watering the grass you're standing on.

There's no such thing as plenty of time.
Make that phone call to reconnect with a loved one.
Plan that trip.
Say, "I love you."
Have lunch with your daughter.
Call him back.
Forgive a misdeed.
You have 168 hours per week, just like everybody else. Time is your most precious commodity. Spend it wisely.

We've all had times in our lives where we look for divine intervention. I think part of our purpose is to find others who desperately need support in some manner. The act of giving grace also allows us to receive grace.
Be the miracle.

Find your place in the world.
You're going to have to try a lot of things.
You're going to have to make some mistakes.
You can't follow the crowd.
It's so worth it!

Today is the first day of summer. I didn't realize that Emma's last "lunch" school day was this past Friday. She has some tests this week but will always be home for lunch, and school officially ends on Thursday for her.
So, for the next 86 days, there will be no Napkin Notes... for Emma, that is.
I have found the last two summers to be distressing. I enjoy writing notes and have decided this summer to continue to write notes without a school lunch need.
For whom will I write the notes? You. Me. Anyone who needs a positive or motivational message for the day. In fact, if you find a note particularly meaningful, I'll mail it to you. Just ask. I might even write one to Emma now and again.
The notes will probably be posted a little later than when I post in the school year. If you miss it, you can always come back directly to the page. I also post on our website, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
